Coach Magda Boulet
A dynamically accomplished runner, Magda offers years of experience and knowledge. You’ll be running with and learning from one of the top female trail runners in the world.
Magda earned a spot on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team finishing second in the Marathon trials. She went on to captain the US Cross country team at the World Cross country Championships in 2010 and 2011. Soon after she transitioned into trail running, winning her 100 mile debut at the prestigious 2015 Western States Endurance Run. That year, she was named North American Ultra Runner of the Year.
She earned her bachelor's degree in human bio-dynamics from U.C. Berkeley and a master's degree in exercise physiology from Cal State Hayward.
She currently leads Innovation & Product Development at GU Energy Labs, where she works with athletes to develop the nutritional tools they need to perform their very best.
Magda’s greatest asset as both an athlete and coach is her ability to convey the immense joy the sport of trail running can bring. She is looking forward to taking participants on sunrise runs and teaching them how to cook for themselves as part of a runner’s journey.

Coach Richie Boulet
Richie has been enjoying running for 30 years. He was a 6-Time NCAA All-American at UC Berkeley, and immediately after college became one of the top Milers in the country. His personal best of 3:53.26 places him on the all-time top 40 list of Americans. After retiring from professional running in 2000, he became a partner at TRANSPORTS and continues to help runners of all ability get the gear and advice they need to progress.
Richie has been coaching in many capacities since 1998 starting with the high school level -Sir Francis Drake, St. Mary’s and Oakland Tech – producing sectional championships and state qualifiers at each. During this time he also coached beginning runners through the TRANSPORTS Racing Team.
Though a very accomplished road-runner, he has always had a love of trail running and spent most of his time running them even during his competitive days.
Richie’s greatest skill as a coach is his ability to motivate through sarcasm, and his primary focus is always on the long term health of his athletes.
